Books
What
if an artist only made one known masterpiece? Chopin's spirit haunts
a pianist, controlling her career. A great flutist pays the ultimate
price for his art. Fugitive Tales is a collection
of my short stories seem to develop more in a style closer to Saki
or Roland Dahl, who I first encountered in my early teens, than
writers like O'Conner, Sarton, Gardner or Nabokov. But it is the
latter who give awe to what can be done the words we all use, and
give the inspiration to try.
You
can read several of these stories here, or read/download the collection,
Fugitive Tales, in an Acrobat PDF file.

Sometimes
in Shadow,
a novel, was scheduled for publication in 1997, but the bankruptcy
of the publisher brought the project to a halt. It is now available
as a Print on Demand (PoD) book, two clicks away.
Finally,
I've included an excerpt from Conspiracy of Silence,
an unpublished book by by Mary Adelaide Mendelson with Walton Mendelson:
Tender Loving Greed--A Summary. Tender
Loving Greed was written by Mary Adelaide Mendelson.
This 1974 George Polk Award winning book was a remarkable exposé
on long term care and nursing homes. It was relevant then and it
is still relevant. It's not fiction, but it is exciting.
